About the Stars

The Stars snapped a five-game losing streak with a 4-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers at American Airlines Center Monday night. Eleven different Dallas players registered a point in the game.

“I am not going to lie to you, it feels pretty good to get a gulp of air,” said Stars coach Glen Gulutzan. “I thought that our players played real hard and Kari (Lehtonen) was sharp when we need him to be. We got a real good team effort. We were physical, we played hard. We still took a lot of penalties, but we cleaned up our own mess.”

Kari Lehtonen will start in goal for the Stars Wednesday.

Injuries: D Alex Goligoski (broken thumb) and RW Adam Burish (broken hand) are out.

About the Kings

The Kings won 3-2 in St. Louis Tuesday night. Less than two minutes after the Blues had tied the game at 2-2, Kings defenseman Willie Mitchell scored on a shot from the point with 5:49 remaining to give Los Angeles the win. Mike Richards also scored, running his goal scoring streak to four games.

“Richards has been very hot and playing very well,” said Kings coach Terry Murray. “He’s starting to feel comfortable in L.A. and we’re excited about that.’’

Jonathan Bernier started in goal for the Kings and stopped 23 shots.

Injuries: F Dustin Penner (hand), D Alec Martinez (upper body) and F Scott Parse (upper body) are out.
