The past week
The Texas Stars went 2-2-0 over the past week. Texas is 12-14-1 on the season and currently ranks fifth in the AHL’s West Division.
The Stars opened the week with a 3-2 win at Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Raymond Sawada, Colton Sceviour and Stephen Schultz scored to give Texas a 3-0 lead after one period. Tyler Beskorowany stopped 18 of 20 shots.
On Friday, Texas lost 4-1 to Houston at Cedar Park Center. Matt Fraser scored the lone goal for Texas. Beskorowany made 28 saves.
Texas defeated Rochester 6-2 Saturday night in Cedar Park. Ryan Garbutt had two goals and two assists to lead the Texas offense. Defenseman Brenden Dillon had one goal and one assist. Francis Wathier, Brad Lukowich and Mike Hedden also scored. Goaltender Jimmy Spratt, making his first AHL appearance, stopped 14 of 16 shots.
The Stars lost 4-2 at San Antonio on Sunday. Fraser and Ondrej Roman scored goals for Texas. Beskorowany made 29 saves on 33 shots.
