Stars lead 1-0 after solid first

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars outshot the Carolina Hurricanes 11-8, despite having to kill off a few penalties, and scored on the power play.

Jamie Benn tapped in a rebound to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. It was Benn's first goal in 13 games.

Dallas looks like the team with more energy as it's controlled the pace of play. Brenden Morrow made sure everyone was alert from the opening faceoff, dropping the gloves with Tim Gleason just 25 seconds into the game.
