About the Stars

The Stars (23-17-1) had a two-game winning streak snapped with a 5-2 loss at Anaheim Tuesday night. The Stars overcame a 2-0 deficit to tie the game early in the third period, but then the Ducks scored three goals to close out the victory.

“We stuck with the game plan and we saw the result early in the third, we came back,” said Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas. “Then they called timeout and they came back very strong, they put a lot of pressure at us. They just came back harder, a few breakdowns there and that’s what happened. I think overall, we played a pretty good game through the first two periods and early in the third, but after that, they just took over.”

The Stars assigned defenseman Jordie Benn to the Texas Stars on Wednesday.

Injuries: C Mike Ribeiro (knee), D Philip Larsen (concussion-like symptoms) and RW Tomas Vincour (knee) are out.

About the Kings

The Kings (21-15-7) are coming off a 5-2 win over Washington Monday at Staples Center. The five goals scored were the most in a game for the Kings, the lowest scoring team in the league, since November 17.

"I don't know if anything is easy for us these days,” said Kings defenseman Jack Johnson, who found the back of the net to end a 17-game goal scoring drought. "But we finally scored some goals, which makes everything easier. It's a great feeling to give our goalies some breathing room finally."

The Kings improved to 6-1-3 since Darryl Sutter took over as head coach.

Injuries: D Slava Voynov (upper body) is day-to-day. LW Simon Gagne (concussion) and LW Scott Parse (hip) are out.
