The Colorado Avalanche are suddenly on a bit of a roll and they’ve climbed into ninth place in the West. They beat Anaheim last night for their fourth straight win and fifth in the last six games to pull even with the Stars at 70 points.
The Stars still hold eighth place based on Colorado having played one more game. If the games played were even, the Stars would still hold the regulation/overtime wins tiebreaker, 29-26.
Both the Kings and Flames lost last night, so they remain two and three points back, respectively. The Kings play again tonight, playing at Minnesota.
The Sharks, who are in seventh place and one point ahead of the Stars with two games in hand, host Philadelphia tonight.
Phoenix, currently tops in the Pacific Division and three points ahead of the Stars, hosts Vancouver.
It will be a good night of game/scoreboard watching as the Stars get set to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night at American Airlines Center.
