The Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche on Friday, 2-1, at the American Airlines.
James Neal and Steve Ott were the goal scorers for the Stars and Brad Richards had a pair of assists. Kari Lehtonen stopped 34 of 35shots.
Ott put the Stars up 2-0 at the 6:51 mark of the third period, scoring from close range on a Dallas power play.
The Avalanche finally got a puck past Kari Lehtonen at 9:15 of the third period and it came on their 31st shot. Patrick Bordeleau lifted a rebound by Lehtonen to make it a 2-1 game.
Kari Lehtonen stopped 11 of 12 shots in the final period.
