Idaho Steelheads

The Idaho Steelheads opened the season with two games at home against the Victoria Salmon Kings, winning one and losing one.

On Friday, Tyler Beskorowany stopped all 24 shots he faced to earn a shutout in his first professional game as the Steelheads topped the Salmon Kings 5-0.

”If he doesn’t make a couple big saves in the first 10 minutes, it could have turned into a very, very different game,“ Steelheads coach Hardy Sauter told the Idaho Statesman.

Said Beskorowany: ”I was stretching before the game and the legs were shaking. But after that I calmed down and played my game.“

Michael Neal was among the goals scorers for Idaho in the game.

On Sunday, the Steelheads lost 4-0 to Victoria. Beskorowany only lasted 31:37 in this game, getting pulled after allowing four goals on 20 shots.

“We didn’t give him a whole lot of help,” Sauter told the Statesman. “One of those goals I didn’t like. But the other goals? They were hockey goals.”

Idaho plays two games at Alaska this coming weekend.
