The Dallas Stars announced Wednesday that left wing Fabian Brunnstrom will go to the Texas Stars on a conditioning assignment. Brunnstrom is not injured, but since he's been a healthy scratch for eight of the last 13 games, the team is allowed to send him to the AHL to get game action. He is scheduled to rejoin the Stars in Montreal on Jan. 14.
Maxime Fortunus has been reassigned to the Texas Stars. Fortunus played in five games for Dallas and was scoreless with two penalty minutes. Sending Fortunus back to the AHL is an indication that Mark Fistric, who has been recovering from a concussion, could return. Fistric has missed five games since suffering the concussion Dec. 17 at Atlanta.
Brunnstrom, 23, has skated in 23 games for the Stars. He has one goal and six assists. Brunnstrom had 29 points last season, his first in the NHL.
The Stars face Anaheim at 7 p.m. at American Airlines Center on Thursday.
