About the Stars

The Stars opened a stretch of five straight games on the road with a 4-2 loss at Nashville Saturday night. It pushed their winless streak to three games (0-1-2) and gave them a 1-3-2 record in their last six games.

“I don’t know if we all realize exactly what the record has been, but I think we all know the situation we’re in,” said Stars captain Brenden Morrow. “We need to collect points and tonight was another missed opportunity. … It feels like we’ve had a lot of those lately.”

Kari Lehtonen is expected to make his 16th consecutive start on Tuesday.

Injuries: D Karlis Skrastins (leg laceration), D Nicklas Grossman (knee), F Adam Burish (leg) and F Brian Sutherby (back) are out.

About the Coyotes

The Coyotes are coming off a 4-1 loss at San Jose on Saturday night. It was just the second loss in the last nine games (7-2-0) for Phoenix, which is currently in fourth place in the Western Conference.

"We weren't good enough in any area," said Coyotes captain Shane Doan. "They kind of controlled play and we have to be better than what we showed, and we know that."

Saturday’s loss left the Coyotes four points behind San Jose in the race for first place in the Pacific Division.

Injuries: F Vernon Fiddler (undisclosed) and F Lauri Korpikoski (upper body) are questionable. F Martin Hanzal (upper body) and D Ed Jovanovski (orbital bone) are out.
