A few notes from around the boxing world:
• Light heavyweights Edwin Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KOs) and Michael Seals (19-0, 14 KOs) will meet Nov. 13 in the Premier Boxing Champions main event on Spike TV at the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. Rodriguez, 30, of Worcester, Massachusetts, has won three in a row since he failed to make weight and was routed by super middleweight champion Andre Ward in November 2013. Seals, 33, of Atlanta, will be taking a huge step up in competition, having faced nobody of remote note since turning pro in 2008.
• Junior middleweight Jorge Paez Jr. suffered a right hand injury in a recent sparring session and has been ruled out of an Oct. 10 fight against Ramon Alvarez (21-4-2, 13 KOs), Canelo Alvarez's older brother, Zanfer Promotions announced. Stepping in to take Paez's place in the beIN Sports Espanol-televised main event is Ghana's long-faded Ben Tackie (30-12-1, 18 KOs), 42, the former junior welterweight title challenger. Tackie, who has never been knocked out, retired in 2010 following his sixth loss in a row. He ended his retirement with a victory in March.
• Before they step into the ring to unify their middleweight belts, middleweight titleholders Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux will come face to face on HBO's "Face Off With Max Kellerman," which debuts Oct. 10 at 11:20 p.m. ET/PT. The fighters will sit across from each other as Kellerman interviews both about their much-anticipated bout Oct. 17 (HBO PPV) at Madison Square Garden in New York. It will be the first appearance for both titleholders on "Face Off." During the joint interview, they will be joined by their trainers, Abel Sanchez (Golovkin) and Mark Ramsey (Lemieux).
