Exciting light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara, coming off his biggest victory, has signed with Warriors Boxing promoter Leon Margules.
Warriors becomes his co-promoter as Fonfara will continue to also be promoted by Dominic Pesoli of 8 Count Productions, who does frequent business with Margules.
A native of Poland living in Chicago, Fonfara (25-2, 14 KOs), the 25-year-old "Polish Prince," knocked out former titleholder Gabriel Campillo in the ninth round in August at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago. Fonfara's first victory that drew wider attention was his unanimous 10-round decision against former champ Glen Johnson in July 2012.
Fonfara, riding a 15-fight unbeaten streak, is closing in on a mandatory title shot for the belt currently held by Sergey Kovalev.
Fonfara's next fight, against an opponent to be determined, is scheduled for Dec. 6 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago on the undercard of cruiserweight titlist Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (48-2-1, 34 KOs), of Poland, facing former titlist Giacobbe Fragomeni (31-3-2, 12 KOs), of Italy, for the third time.
