The Nevada State Athletic Commission on Thursday handed out referee and judging assignments for the Golden Boy-promoted Showtime PPV on March 8 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The card is headlined by former junior middleweight titlist Canelo Alvarez facing Alfredo Angulo and features three world title bouts on the undercard.
Tony Weeks will referee the main event in which Alvarez and Angulo will both be desperate for wins as they are both coming off losses. Alvarez was dominated by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September in their mega fight and Angulo was stopped by Erislandy Lara in the 10th round in June.
The judges will be Dave Moretti and Jerry Roth of Nevada and Craig Metcalfe of Canada, Kenny Bayless will referee Leo Santa Cruz's junior featherweight title defense against Cristian Mijares. Judges will be Adalaide Byrd and Glenn Trowbridge of Nevada and John Keane of England.
For lightweight titlist Omar Figueroa's first defense against Ricardo Alvarez, Robert Byrd will be the third man in the ring. Judges are Burt Clements and Patricia Morse Jarman of Nevada and Jurgen Langos of Germany.
Junior middleweight titlist Carlos Molina defends against Jermall Charlo in the opener. Vic Drakulich will referee the bout and Lisa Giampa and Robert Hoyle of Nevada and William Lerch of Illinois will judges.
