'American Idol' winner to sing national anthem at Pacquiao-Bradley III

LAS VEGAS – Iconic television show American Idol, the singing contest that has been the launching pad for several music stars, closed out its 15th and final season on Thursday by crowning the final idol.

The winner -- 25-year-old Trent Harmon of Amory, Mississippi -- will now fly to Las Vegas to perform for the first time after the being crowed on Saturday night (HBO PPV, 9 ET) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

The winner will sing the "Star Spangled Banner" before welterweights Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley Jr. meet for the third time.
