A few notes from around the boxing world:

• When the fight between welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman (26-0, 22 KOs) and former titleholder Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16 KOs) was rescheduled for June 25 (CBS) -- after being postponed from March 12 when Thurman suffered minor injuries in a car accident -- it was not clear if it would remain at the original site, which was the Mohegan Sun Resort Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. A week after the fight was rescheduled it likely will not. Instead, the card, which will also include former three-division titleholder Abner Mares (29-2-1, 15 KOs) challenging Jesus Cuellar (28-1, 21 KOs) for his secondary featherweight world title, likely will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

• Heavyweight up-and-comer Joseph Parker (18-0, 16 KOs), 24, of New Zealand, and battle-tested Carlos Takam (33-2-1, 25 KOs), 35, of France, are due to meet in a title eliminator that will give the winner the mandatory position to face the winner of the April 9 fight between titleholder Charles Martin (23-0-1, 21 KOs) and British star Anthony Joshua (15-0, 15 KOs). The Parker and Takam camps could still make a deal but if they don't, the IBF said the purse bid for the bout is scheduled for Thursday at the organization's headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey. If Duco Events, Parker's promoter, wins the purse bid it has said it would like to put on the fight in May in New Zealand.

• Super middleweight Martin Murray, coming off a split-decision loss challenging world titleholder Arthur Abraham in November, will return May 7 at Manchester Arena, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced. Murray (32-3-1, 15 KOs) will face an opponent to be determined on the undercard of lightweight titlist Anthony Crolla's defense against interim titleholder Ismael Barroso. If Murray wins and British countryman and fellow former title challenge George Groves (22-3, 17 KOs) wins his fight against David Brophy (16-0-1, 1 KO) on the Charles Martin-Anthony Joshua undercard April 9 at the O2 Arena in London, Murray and Groves could meet this summer.
