Polish heavyweight Artur Szpilka (18-1, 13 KOs) and Washington, D.C., junior welterweight Anthony Peterson will both compete in scheduled 10-round fights on Friday night on the Erislandy Lara-Delvin Rodriguez undercard at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, although neither bout is slated for the Spike TV telecast (9 ET).
Szpilka will take on Manuel Quezada (29-9, 18 KOs) and Peterson (34-1, 22 KOs) will face Ammeth Diaz (32-11, 23 KOs).
Szpilka’s only loss came to contender Bryant Jennings by 10th-round knockout in January 2014. He has won two in a row since.
Peterson is the chronically inactive younger brother of former junior welterweight titlist Lamont Peterson and will be fighting for only the fifth time since a seventh-round disqualification loss to Brandon Rios in a 2010 lightweight title elimination bout.
