Middleweight Caleb Truax announced on his Twitter account Wednesday that he has been forced out of a fight with Fernando Guerrero on Friday night at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
The scheduled 10-round bout was due to headline the second edition of Premier Boxing Champions on Bounce TV.
“For all that have been following my camp leading up to fight night, I regret to inform you that my fight with Fernando Guerrero is off,” he wrote. “There was a mix up with my medicals and no time to get everything done. I will get everything cleared up and be back in the ring ASAP!”
In his last fight, on April 24 in Chicago, Truax (25-2-2, 15 KOs), of Osseo, Minnesota, was knocked out in the 12th round challenging secondary titleholder Daniel Jacobs.
Unable to find a suitable replacement to face Guerrero (23-7, 17 KOs), of Salisbury, Maryland, on short notice, the welterweight fight between Jamal James (17-0, 9 KOs), of Minneapolis, and Juan Carlos Abreu (18-1-1, 17 KOs), of the Dominican Republic, is moving up the card from the co-feature position to the main event and junior middleweight prospect Erikson Lubin (11-0, 8 KOs), of Orlando, Florida, against Mexico’s Orlando Lora (31-5-2, 19 KOs) is the new co-feature.
Opening the telecast will be Haitian-born Fort Lauderdale, Florida, junior middleweight Wilky Campfort (21-1, 11 KOs) against Ronaldo Montes (16-2, 14 KOs), of Colombia, in a 10-round bout.
