Broncos hold Sanders out of practice

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders did a little work after practice Monday, but the team once again held Sanders out of its workout because of a thigh injury.

Sanders played 20 snaps in the Broncos' preseason opener last Thursday night, but did not practice the Tuesday before the game, on Saturday or in Monday's workout. But Sanders was moving well after practice when he caught a few passes.

Running back Montee Ball, who had an appendectomy a week ago, was also held out of practice, as was running back C.J. Anderson (concussion). Ball was feeling good enough, though, that he helped running backs coach Eric Studesville with a drill or two. Ball was handing the ball off to the backs in one of those, and he also did some light running off to the side.

Tight end Jacob Tamme, whose wife just gave birth to the couple's second child last week, was excused from practice for personal reasons.

Defensive end Chase Vaughn (right knee) and defensive end Greg Latta (right hip) were again held out of practice.
