Morning Roar: What's next for Detroit

The Lions, lying in wait for next year...

Free agency is essentially done. A little under six weeks remain until the NFL draft. There will be offseason workouts and the start of some plans for the 2014 season, but other than that, this turns into a slow period for the Detroit Lions.

The team will open offseason workouts a little more than a week from now. That's the immediate focus. They'll also continue to cycle draft prospects through and probably some lower-level free agents as well. When it comes to free agency, the team might still nab a veteran backup quarterback and potentially a lineman or two to help fill the roster and give some depth.

Otherwise, it's going to be about the rookies for the next two months.
