It’s been an odd start to the season for the closers. The top option on the Player Rater seemed in clear decline after dealing with seven multi-walk games last season. This year he has walked two hitters -- in total. The No. 2 reliever on the Rater didn’t pitch at all last season and saw 24 other RP-eligible options selected over him in ESPN ADP. Entering Wednesday, three of the first four relievers chosen in drafts were on the disabled list and the guy ranked second in the NL in saves boasts an 8.04 ERA.
Regardless, only one quarter of this odd season is completed so there’s going to be plenty more upheaval among the relief pitcher set. In order to get you prepared, here are some predictions sure to go wrong!
