Golf isn’t exactly a contact sport. But one unlucky spectator from Sunday’s final round at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational might have a case against that statement. While teeing off from the third hole, Sergio Garcia hit the ball directly onto a woman’s diamond ring. And if the pain from having a golf ball hit her hand wasn’t enough, the impact dislodged the diamond and it fell to the ground. Cueing any and all “DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH!” jokes here.
Thankfully for the woman and for Garcia’s wallet, the diamond was eventually found.
