Congratulations, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Coldplay! You are all in the running to be the halftime entertainment for the Super Bowl! Awesome, right? Except, according to the Wall Street Journal, the NFL is requesting that the chosen performer make a “financial contribution” -- READ: pay -- for the coveted role. So that sounds pretty not enticing for any artist ever.

While this sounds like one of the most ridiculous plans I’ve heard since Lindsay Lohan’s last comeback strategy, I would however happily have paid for the Black Eyed Peas and Madonna to have not performed in the past few years. So maybe that’s another way for the NFL to make some more of that money it apparently needs.
