This is the fourth in a series of blogs about former U.S. soccer player Kristine Lilly, who is running in the Boston Marathon on Monday to raise money for Boston Children's Hospital.

Kristine Lilly and her friend, Jodi, got up at the crack of dawn to take shuttle buses to the start of the Boston Marathon.

Lilly, who played in a record 352 soccer games with Team USA, is running her first marathon. Her longest run before Monday was a half marathon. Lilly's goal time is four hours.

Lilly said she decided to run the marathon for charity, and as a part of getting back in shape after the birth of her second daughter. She battled a heel injury during training.

Lilly sent in photos of herself and her running partner Monday morning. espnW will meet her at the finish to find out how the run went.
