Women's soccer fans have been pointing to today's National Women’s Soccer League matchup between the Seattle Reign and Portland Thorns since the schedules were announced. On paper, the Pacific Northwest squads look like two of the top teams in the league. Both, however, will have major gaps in their active lineups today. Portland’s Tobin Heath (Paris Saint-Germain) and Seattle’s Megan Rapinoe (Lyon), Hope Solo (broken hand) and Amy Rodriguez (pregnant) will be unavailable. The talented duo of Alex Morgan and Christine Sinclair will be looking to put on a show for the Thorns’ home opener at Jeld-Wen Field. Just wait for the fourth and final match of the season between these teams on Aug. 17, when most of those players will be back and in top form.
