The Fierce Five dominated the competition and the headlines with their masterful gold-medal performances and adorable personalities at the 2012 London Olympics. With apologies to McKayla Maroney and her “not impressed” face, two members of the team emerged as the biggest stars of the gym -- all-around gold medalist Gabby Douglas and floor gold medalist Aly Raisman. Since the Games, the two have been largely absent from competition as they focused on other projects.
But not anymore.
It was announced on Tuesday that both Douglas and Raisman will be added to the U.S. women's national gymnastics team this month. They helped spread the word of their return on Twitter with a pretty awesome announcement via Associated Press writer Will Graves.
Hey Gymternet, remember us? You know, like 78 medals in London a couple years ago or something? Well, we're back: pic.twitter.com/QvooBiPXXA
