While some dude in the Bronx seems to be hogging all the retirement glory lately, Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko will also hanging up his glove in a few days after 18 seasons in the big leagues. But before the 38-year-old walks away and likely steps immediately onto the golf course like the great retirees before him, he recorded a video paying homage to the White Sox fans who have supported him for the past 16 seasons he has spent with the team.
It’s in black and white and starts with “Dear Chicago” so you know it’s going to be a little emotional.
Now if only someone could put together some sort of Derek Jeter tribute or something.
