How U.S. Gymnasts Wowed The World

The U.S. women’s gymnastics team absolutely destroyed the competition at the world championships in Nanning, China, claiming the gold medal in the team event on Wednesday with a 6.693 margin of victory over second-place China. That is not a typo. That is a LANDSLIDE.

Need proof of the team’s total and utter global domination? Here are some of the highlights.

Reigning world champion Simone Biles basically disproved the laws of gravity with this insane vault.

Competing in her first world championships, Ashton Locklear put on an absolute clinic on the uneven bars.

Kyla Ross, the lone member on the team from the 2012 gold-medal-winning American Olympic squad, showed off her balance and about 4 million tricks on the balance beam.

Biles closed out the competition -- literally and figuratively -- on floor exercise as she tumbled and tumbled and tumbled and tumbled. Just watch.

Even Gabby Douglas, watching on the other side of the world, was impressed by her peers’ performance.

It’s totally acceptable to start a U-S-A chant from wherever you are now.
