Simone Biles Is Giddy A Day After Women's Sports Foundation Salute

The Women’s Sports Foundation held its annual salute on Wednesday night in New York, and anyone who is anyone was there. From Michelle Kwan to Mo’ne Davis to Amy Purdy to Laila Ali, the night was a who’s who of female athletes.

The night truly belonged to reigning two-time world all-around gymnastics champion Simone Biles and ice dancing gold medalist Meryl Davis, who were each presented with the coveted Sportswoman of the Year honor. Davis, who struck gold with partner Charlie White in Sochi, won the award for participation in a team sport, and Biles won as an individual. They both seemed humbled, as they later shared on social media.

And Biles, who just arrived back from the world championships in China earlier this week, continued her publicity tour bright and early on Thursday morning with an appearance on “Today.” Like a boss.

Even after all the accolades and experiences of the last few days, Biles seemed most excited to ... be in the same room as actor James Marsden. Maybe she is just a typical 17-year-old after all.
