Penn State lands late 2012 commit

Nino Stewart, a Class of 2012 prospect from Florida, verbally committed to Penn State, his family confirmed Monday morning.

Stewart originally committed to Central Florida but re-opened his recruiting in late January.

The wing midfielder plays club soccer for Weston FC under-17/18s in the Development Academy. He has made only five appearances this season, scoring one goal.

Stewart attends St. Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.).

Penn State previously confirmed a signing class of eight players: Shane Campbell, Kelton Cheney, Christian Kaschak and Drew Klingenberg from Pennsylvania, Eli Dennis from Maryland, Akil Howard

from New York, Matthew Mayewski from New Jersey and Emmanuel Martin from France.
