Dan Lynd, a Class of 2012 goalkeeper from Penfield, N.Y., has verbally committed to Pittsburgh, according to his family.

Lynd plays club soccer for Empire United-Rochester.

In high school this past fall, Lynd posted a .20 goals-against average for Penfield (Penfield, N.Y.), with 12 shutouts. He was in goal for Penfield's 1-0 regular-season victory over eventual state runner-up Webster Schroeder (Webster, N.Y.). Lynd was a first-team all-county and Section V all-tournament selection while helping Penfield to a section runner-up finish.

He is the third confirmed commitment to Pitt, joining Matt Venanzi of Pennsylvania and Nicholas Wysong of Indiana.
