Showcase Standouts: Top '96 Players

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. -- The coaches (Juan Carlos Michia, Tim Regan) have had their say, and ESPNHS offers this list of top 10 performers from the Development Academy 1996 Age Group All-Star game held at the Lakewood Ranch Premier Sports Campus.

The Match

Academy Select Red used two first-half scores to build an early lead and defeat Academy Select Blue 2-1 in the 1996 (16-17-year-old) division on Saturday night at the 2011 U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase at the Lakewood Ranch Premier Sports Campus.

Brian Pachero (Pateadores) scored on a penalty kick in the 19th minute of the game to give Academy Select Red a 1-0 advantage.

Forward Joab Santoyo (Arsenal FC) found the back of the net on a pass from midfielder Victor Rolph (Colorado Rush) in the 33rd minute that extended the lead to 2-0.

Academy Select Red converted on both of its shots on goal and tallied three corner kicks compared to one for Academy Select Blue.

Academy Select Blue totaled three shots on goal and tallied its lone score in the 57th minute on goal by Zach Jackson (Texas SC).
