Hamilton Carlin, who leads the U.S. Soccer Development Academy under-15/16s in goals scored with 17 this season, has verbally committed to South Carolina.
The forward from Mount Pleasant, S.C., is a Class of 2013 prospect and plays club soccer for the South Carolina United Battery. He is the No. 14-rated prospect in the ESPNHS 150 for the Class of 2013.
Carlin played high school soccer for Wando (Mount Pleasant, S.C.), where he was named to The Post and Courier All-Lowcountry all-star team. He scored a pair of goals in Wando's 3-1 state final victory over Irmo (Columbia, S.C.), which earned Wando a Top 25 spring ranking and knocked Irmo out of No. 1.
Carlin's play in the Academy has helped the South Carolina United to a run-away lead in the division.
He is the third confirmed commit to South Carolina for the Class of 2013, along with Koty Millard and Eli Dent, both from South Carolina.
