St. John's picks up New Jersey talent

Jelani Williams, a Class of 2012 prospect from West Orange, N.J., has verbally committed to St. John's.

Williams, who is from Jamaica, is a starting forward for PDA's under-17/18 entry in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. He has scored one goal in five matches this season.

He attends West Orange (West Orange, N.J.), where he scored 19 goals and assisted on 16 during the 2010 fall high school season. He scored 26 goals the previous season.

Williams will join club teammate Brandon Savino at St. John's. New York native Sean Sepe also has committed to the Red Storm.
