Alec Ferrell, a Class of 2012 goalkeeper prospect from Ohio, confirmed Monday that he has committed to Wake Forest.

Ferrell earned second-team all-state honors this past fall while playing for Westlake (Ohio). He posted 18 shutouts over the past two seasons.

He plays club soccer for Internationals in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy. Ferrell was the starting goalkeeper for the Internationals in all three of its matches this season as the team is off to a 3-0 start.

Ferrell is the second keeper in Wake Forest's recruiting class, along with Andrew Harris of Maryland. The rest of Wake's recruiting class includes Mike Gamble, Ricky Greensfelder and Jalen Robinson from Maryland, Thomas Haws and Philip Parker from Texas and Ryan Perry from Kentucky.
