UConn lands NJSA 04 midfielder standout

Jon-Luke Ferrandino, one of the all-time leading scorers at New Canaan (Conn.), confirmed Friday that he has commited to the University of Connecticut.

Ferrandino, a Class of 2012 left-footed midfielder, has played in all five matches with the under-17/18 NJSA 04 team in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, scoring one goal.

During a three-year high school career at New Canaan, he helped the team to a state title in 2010 and finished with 40 career goals and 29 assists. He had 18 goals and five assists this past season to earn all-state honors, and he is a two-time All-FCIAC honoree.
