N.C. State picks up Longwood transfer

Nick Surkamp, the leading scorer at Longwood last season, is transfering to North Carolina State, he confirmed to ESPNHS on Tuesday.

Surkamp started all 19 matches for Longwood, scoring 11 goals with two assists as a sophomore in 2011. He started 17 of 19 matches his freshman season, netting one goal and assisting on two scores.

Surkamp is from Manassas, Va., where he was a standout at Osbourn Park (Manassas, Va.). He played club soccer for MPS Hurricane.

He joins a North Carolina State recruiting class that includes Conor Agnew, Joaquin del Rosario, Dylan Ejlali, W. Lee Grander, Alex McCauley, Michael Nelson, Seth Poole and Jonathan Ray.
