WAZA West midfielder commits to Oakland

Matt Wilson, a Class of 2013 attacking midfielder prospect from Novi, Mich., verbally committed to Oakland University, ESPNHS learned Monday.

Wilson was part of the Michigan Olympic Development Program squad that recently captured the ODP national title over Virginia. He plays club soccer for WAZA West where he leads the team in points with 12 goals and nine assists. WAZA West won the Michigan State Cup last year and went 2-0-1 at the US Youth Soccer Region II Championships last summer.

This past fall, he played high school soccer at Novi (Mich.), finishing with 19 goals and 17 assists.

Wilson is the second confirmed commitment to Oakland University for the Class of 2013, joining Amara Soumah.
