Freddy Nzekele, a Class of 2013 forward prospect from Maryland, confirmed Sunday that he has verbally committed to North Carolina-Wilmington.
Nzekele plays club soccer for AC Bethesda, where he scored the winning goal against Erin Mills of Canada during the Dr Pepper Dallas Cup this past spring.
He played high school soccer at Bethesda-Chevy Chase (Bethesda, Md.). Nzekele was among the county's top sprinters during the 2011 indoor track season, specializing in the 300-meter dash.
Nzekele is the second confirmed commitment to North Carolina-Wilmington for the Class of 2013, joining Kellen Foster of North Carolina.
