Lee Grander, who was born in North Carolina and raised in Illinois, will return to North Carolina -- this time to play for North Carolina State, according to his family.

The Class of 2012 defender from Naperville, Ill., originally committed to Butler, but when coach Kelly Findley moved to North Carolina State, Grander decided to follow him to Raleigh.

This past fall high school season, Grander was named captain of the Daily Herald DuPage County All-Area Soccer Team. He helped Naperville North team to an undefeated regular season and a 22-1-1 overall showing.

Grander will play for the Chicago Magic in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy this season.

He is the fourth confirmed commitment to North Carolina State for the Class of 2012, joining Conor Agnew from South Carolina, Alex McCauley from Georgia and Michael Nelson from Texas.
