Strikers forward opts for Davidson

Valeriy Sviderskiy, the second-leading scorer this season for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Richmond Strikers, has verbally committed to Davidson, ESPNHS learned Thursday.

Sviderskiy has scored four goals in eight Academy appearances this season.

He was a Richmond Times-Dispatch All-Metro first-team high school player while helping Mills Godwin (Richmond, Va.) to a POWERADE FAB 50 national ranking last spring.

Sviderskiy joins a Davidson recruiting class that includes T.J. Casner, George Kaloudis, Andrew Kenneson, Shane Macnamara, John Pouliot abd C.J. Tikvart.
