Cal-Hi Sports Top 25 Weekend Scoreboard

Check here to see which teams may be going up, which ones going down in next week’s state rankings, the ninth of the 2011 regular season.

When it comes to scores, some force a double-take, such as No. 16 Buhach Colony of Atwater defeating Golden Valley of Merced 90-48 on Friday in Atwater.

According to multiple sources, the score is legit. It prompted at least one Sacramento TV station to wonder what the CIF-Sac Joaquin Section record might be.

We don’t know with 100 percent accuracy because our all-time lists are statewide, but it’s not the 90 by Buhach Colony. It probably is the 113 that Sacramento scored in a 113-0 win in 1917 over the Davis State Farm College Reserves (basically the UC Davis reserves). Buhach’s 90 looks like it could be the most by one team from the section in perhaps 70 or 80 years or before there even was a Sac-Joaquin Section. The closest recent score was when Grant of Sacramento beat McClatchy of Sacramento 89-0 in 2008.
