Cal-Hi Sports Top 25 Weekend Scoreboard

Check here to see which teams may be going up, which ones going down in next week’s state rankings, the 14th of the 2011 season.

Both favorites in the north and south for the CIF Open Division state bowl game had running clock victories on Friday and will play in section championships next weekend.

State No. 1 De La Salle, which also is No. 13 in the POWERADE FAB 50 national rankings, led 42-0 at halftime of its 48-0 victory against Pittsburg in the CIF North Coast Section Division I semifinals. The Spartans, who have not allowed a touchdown on defense against eight of the 11 California teams they have played this season, will play either San Ramon Valley of Danville or Monte Vista of Danville in next week’s section final. They have won 20 consecutive NCS crowns and are the two-time defending CIF Open Division state champions.

State No. 2 Westlake, which rose to No. 15 in this week’s FAB 50, clobbered Marmonte League rival Thousand Oaks 62-0 in the CIF Southern Section Northern Division semifinals. The Warriors will play Oaks Christian, the school within walking distance of their campus, in next week’s title game. The two rivals played in last year’s Northern Division championship with Oaks Christian prevailing when a possible game-winning field goal hit the post.
