Cal-Hi Sports Top 25 Weekend Scoreboard

Check here to see which teams may be going up, which ones going down in next week’s state rankings, the fourth of the 2011 regular season

The biggest question to ponder before Monday is surrounding De La Salle. Should the Spartans still be No. 1 in the state even though they were defeated rather handily by St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.?

St. Thomas Aquinas was the No. 1 team in the nation last year and might be just as good this season. When the current No. 1 team, St. John Bosco (Ramsey, N.J.), beat Mission Viejo, the Diablos dropped from No. 2 to No. 3 in the state.

Sitting at No. 2, of course, is a Servite of Anaheim team that De La Salle defeated rather handily last season in the CIF Open Division championship. Servite maybe should still be behind DLS, but what if the Friars beat Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas next week in the next big game on the ESPN networks? One possibility would be to elevate Servite to No. 1 in the state, then see what happens against Bishop Gorman.
