Week 5 football picks

Ok guys, here are the football picks for Week 5. You won't see Saturday's game between No. 5 Darien and No. 6 Trumbull listed below, and that's because I'm saving that particular preview/prediction for tomorrow so we can go a little more in-depth.

Week 5 Picks

Notre Dame-Fairfield (0-4) at No. 1 Masuk (4-0)

Friday, 7 p.m

No disrespect to Notre Dame, but I didn't exactly spend a lot of time analyzing this game.

MASUK 49, NOTRE DAME-FAIRFIELD 10

No. 2 Xavier (4-0) at Fairfield Prep (3-1)

Friday, 6 p.m.

Now that Xavier's passing attack is clicking, the Falcons simply have too much firepower in this one.

XAVIER 42, FAIRFIELD PREP 6

No. 3 New Canaan (4-0) at Norwalk (4-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

New Canaan needed some late magic to escape McMahon last week. I think Norwalk pulls the upset here.

NORWALK 24, NEW CANAAN 19

Notre Dame-West Haven (3-1) at No. 4 Daniel Hand (4-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

I think Hand has the defense to stop Notre Dame's one-dimensional rushing attack.

DANIEL HAND 21, NOTRE DAME-WEST HAVEN 14

East Lyme (2-1) at No. 7 New London (3-0)

Friday, 6:30 p.m.

Does East Lyme have the horses on defense to slow down RB Kyle McKinnon? I say no.

NEW LONDON 38, EAST LYME 18

No. 8 Pomperaug (4-0) at Bunnell (4-0)

Friday, 7 p.m.

Bunnell can spread out the Pomperaug defense, and I think it works.

BUNNELL 33, POMPERAUG 21

RHAM (2-2) at No. 9 Conard (4-0)

Saturday, 1 p.m.

Conard is running the ball too efficiently to lose this game right now.

CONARD 28, RHAM 8

No. 10 Ansonia (4-0) at Seymour (3-1)

Thursday, 6 p.m.

Really, would it shock you if you came back here tomorrow and read that Ansonia RB Arkeel Newsome ran for 600 yards in this game?

ANSONIA 45, SEYMOUR 13
