Florida Football Rankings: Week 13

The playoffs are in full swing, and it's only a matter of time before teams start dropping out of the top 25. This week's biggest upset came when No. 8 Lincoln, a perennial power which captured a state title last year and was in the top 10 all but one week this season, fell to Fleming Island in the 7A regional quarterfinals. Countryside (No. 15), Chaminade-Madonna (No. 20) and Lake Brantley (No. 22) also lost.

The most intriguing matchup of this upcoming weekend has to be Dr. Phillips and Plant. DP advanced to the state finals last year, a run that was vacated due to FHSAA rules violations, while Plant fell in last year's 5A championship to St. Thomas Aquinas. Both Panther squads are characterized by creative offenses and punishing defenses. Whoever wins will be positioned nicely to advance through the north bracket and into the 8A finals.

Here's how the state's top 5 looks as of Monday, Nov. 21:

1 (1)Armwood, 11-0

2 (2)Miramar, 10-0

3 (3)Miami Norland, 10-0

4 (4)Manatee, 9-2

5 (5)Miami Central, 10-0
