Berkeley Prep's Jordan Burgess named Gatorade Volleyball POY

Berkeley Prep girls' volleyball player Jordan Burgess has been named Florida's Gatorade Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The 6-foot-1 senior outside hitter had 553 kills, 366 digs, 48 service aces, 38 assists and 32 blocks in leading the Buccaneers to a 30-2 record and a Class 4A state title. Burgess concludes her BP career as one of the best players ever to suit up for a storied program, one with the second-most volleyball state titles (15) in Florida history under legendary coach Randy Dagostino. But the Bucs hadn't won a state title for six years before Burgess led them to three straight starting in 2009.
