The St. Thomas Aquinas football team has dominated the Sunshine State for the past decade and established itself as one of the nation's top programs. In fact, the Raiders finished No. 1 in the POWERADE FAB 50 last season, the second time in the past three years they've achieved that feat.
And this year, St. Thomas Aquinas looked like it was headed toward another dominant campaign and was ranked No. 2 in this week's POWERADE FAB 50 ESPNHS Team Rankings.
However, the Raiders' dream of finishing No. 1 nationally again took a serious hit on Thursday night when they were upset by Miramar, 27-20, in overtime. It was St. Thomas Aquinas' first loss to a Broward County school since 2007. Miramar (5-0) was ranked No. 10 in this week's POWERADE Florida Football Rankings.
