Elite college quarterbacks Andrew Luck of Stanford and Darron Thomas of Oregon will go head to head for the second time in their college careers on Saturday when the No. 4 Cardinal host the No. 7 Ducks at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
Last year, Thomas and Oregon rolled to a 52-31 win over Luck and Stanford. While it was the first college matchup for the star signal-callers, the pair had actually battled it out twice in high school with Luck’s Stratford (Houston) team coming out on top in both matchups against Thomas and Aldine (Texas).
Their final high school game against each other came in October of ’07 when Luck threw for 149 yards and a pair of scores to lead Stratford to a 34-24 win. Thomas was brilliant in defeat, passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns and running for 101 yards and another score.
