Whether you're putting together a grouping of best quarterbacks or worst albums, or you're making that special list for Santa, there's nothing quite like a good list. So in honor of the holiday season we're bringing you lists all week long — Merry List-Mas!
Today: Georgia A-Listers
What is an A-Lister? In Hollywood, it's the George Clooney and Julia Roberts crowd. In the NFL, Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are A-Listers. In the NBA, it’s LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. The A-List is the best of the best. So which athletes can be considered A-Listers in Georgia this year? That’s where today’s list comes in. Regardless of sport, here’s our list of the top five A-List athletes in the state.
Kenyan Drake, Senior
Credentials: Gatorade State Player of the Year accounted for 2,280 total yards and 25 touchdowns this fall; led Hillgrove to its first Region 4-AAAAA crown and a berth in the second round of the playoffs; committed to Alabama.
Tony Parker, Senior
Miller Grove, Basketball
Credentials: Preseason candidate for ESPNHS Mr. Basketball and heralded leader of the nation's No. 2 squad; averaged 18 points and 15 boards to lead MG to its third Class AAAA title last winter.
Holden Fender, Senior
Credentials: It came down to Fender and Milton's Derek Creviston and we gave Fender the slight nod. The UCLA commit is a member of the U.S. National Team and the No. 43 player in the ESPNHS 150.
Jordan Cunningham, Senior
Credentials: The No. 6 recruit in the ESPNHS 100 and the nation's top-rated long stick MF; an All-State and All-American selection last spring; committed to Denver.
