The Nazareth (Brooklyn, N.Y.) girls' basketball team returned to the court on Wednesday night for the first time since the death of coach Apache Paschall.
The Lady Kingsmen, ranked No. 2 in the POWERADE FAB 50 national rankings, beat Archbishop Molloy (Queens, N.Y.) 77-63.
Paschall, 37, died on Jan. 3 of heart failure while battling an aggressive form of skin cancer.
"This game was so emotional," Nazareth's Brianna Butler told Robert Abruzzese on ESPNNewYork.com. "Losing our coach was a big toll, but playing, being out here on the court, it was just something that he would have wanted us to do."
