This weekend’s Elite Clubs National League slate includes clubs from six different conferences, and features a number of rivalry matchups, including an Atlanta meeting between Condorde Fire and Atlanta Fire, a New York matchup between Albertson and East Meadow, and a Bean Town showdown between FC Stars of Mass and Scorpions. ESPNHS breaks down the ECNL Under-15 Games to Watch for this weekend.
KCFC vs. Carmel (9 a.m. Saturday in Missouri)
This is an interesting matchup at just about every age group, and it’s a rematch of last weekend’s game in Indiana. Carmel’s Josie Thurman scored three goals in two games last week for the U15s, including one against KCFC en route to a 2-0 victory. The girls from Kansas City look to revitalize an offense that has been shut out eight times this season, and will count on midfielder Macy Dodd and forward Kaira Houser to get things done offensively.
East Meadow vs. Albertson (9 a.m. Sunday in New York)
It’s opening weekend for both clubs, and it will be the first ECNL match for East Meadow SC. But don’t count on its instate rivals to lay down the welcome mat. These two clubs are very familiar with each other and have teamed up to dominate New York state soccer for the past few years. Both squads have sleeper potential is the power-packed Northeast Conference.
Challenge vs. FC Dallas (9:45 a.m. Saturday in Texas)
Challenge has beaten FC Dallas once this year, a 4-2 win in Dallas in the middle of September. Forward Jessie Gerow notched a hat trick in that game and has not let up in her offensive ability since. FC Dallas has a few different players who can match that kind of performance, including forward Taylor Torres, who scored both FC Dallas goals in a 2-0 win over Solar-Chelsea in their last match. Anytime these Texas teams get together, expect an offensive display.
